Cerner (Nasdaq: CERN) has received a potential one-year, $98.6M task order from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide sustainment support for VA’s software and hardware platforms.
FedHealthIT reported the task order was awarded through an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the modernization of an electronic health record system. Cerner secured a potential 10-year, $10B contract in 2018 to deploy the same EHR platform the Pentagon currently adopts.
The task order covers technical platforms that were integrated as part of site deployment activities. Operations work will kick off upon “go-live” of the first initial operational capability site.
Cerner's government services business will perform work in Kansas City, Kan., through June 2, 2021.
