A Cerberus Capital Management affiliate has purchased Herndon, Virginia-based information technology contractor NetCentrics for an undisclosed sum to help drive the latter’s financial and expansion goals.
NetCentrics received a capital investment from the New York City-based private equity firm in connection with the deal and appointed 25-year government and industry veteran Kenneth Cushing as CEO, the companies said Tuesday in a joint statement.
Cushing noted that NetCentrics applies its technology experience in efforts to help customers tackle complex problems and hopes to grow operations with the backing of Cerberus.
He previously worked as senior vice president of the defense division at Avantus Federal, chief marketing officer and cybersecurity product leader at General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) mission systems business and engagement manager at McKinsey & Co.
A U.S. Air Force Reserves colonel, Cushing has served as director of cyber and infrastructure security coordination at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency since June 2019.
His public sector career also includes time at the National Reconnaissance Office, National Guard Bureau, U.S. Cyber Command and Air Force Special Operations Command.
