The California Institute of Technology has secured a potential 10-year, $30 billion contract to continue operations support at NASA‘s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.
Caltech will help the space agency develop and sustain key JPL programs in the astrophysics, aeronautics, heliophysics, Earth and planetary sciences and space technology areas, NASA said said Saturday.
Work also includes management of NASA’s Deep Space Network, agency-sponsored competitive research efforts and academic, private and federal partnerships.
The contract has a five-year base period that will commence on Oct. 1 and five one-year options that could extend work through Sept. 30, 2028.
