CACI Awarded $145M Task Order to Support Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Engineering Work

CACI International has secured a potential five-year, $145 million task order to continue providing engineering services to the U.S. Navy’s Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Engineering and Planning Department.

The company said Wednesday that the work will help maintain fleet readiness, particularly for undersea platforms that must remain prepared for rapid deployment.

The Navy’s investment in advanced engineering for undersea platforms underscores how rapidly the maritime battlespace is evolving. At the 2026 Defense R&D Summit on Jan. 29, defense leaders will examine how research-driven innovation is strengthening fleet readiness, accelerating modernization and sustaining U.S. undersea advantage. What Engineering Work Will CACI Provide to the Navy?

The task order includes support across multiple submarine and submersible engineering disciplines focused on modernization, maintenance and repair activities.

The company will assist the Navy’s Ships Availability Planning and Engineering Center and provide technical engineering support for the Deep Submergence Systems Program. CACI will also contribute to depot-level maintenance execution at the shipyard.

CACI has supported Navy undersea programs for more than 30 years, helping ensure dominance in submarine warfare, according to President and CEO John Mengucci, a six-time Wash100 Award recipient.

“With innovative, mature solutions, we keep the fleet prepared and ready to respond rapidly. Backed by our intrinsic knowledge, we bring innovative efficiencies to acquisition and engineering while delivering what matters most: mission-critical results that are on time, on budget, and built to the highest standards,” Mengucci added.
