BWXT Secures $300M Naval Nuclear Reactor Fuel Contract; Sharon Smoot Quoted

The U.S. Navy awarded Nuclear Fuel Services, a subsidiary of BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT), a two-year $300 million contract to support the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

BWXT said Tuesday the company has begun producing fuel for the program, which is expected to be completed by mid-2025.

The project involves manufacturing and delivering naval nuclear reactor fuel for the service branch’s submarines, including the Ohio-, Virginia-, Seawolf-, Columbia- and Los Angeles-class vessels. NFS will also supply fuel for the Nimitz- and Ford-class aircraft carriers.
