Boeing Subsidiary Secures $463M Navy Contract to Supply Low-Band Aircraft Sensor Components

A Boeing (NYSE: BA) subsidiary has secured a $463 million U.S. Navy contract for the procurement of low-band sensor components designed for manned and unmanned aircraft.

Under the five-year contract, Argon ST will provide hardware and associated engineering services for the Multi-Intelligence Sensor Development Sensor Suite, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The award includes support to international cooperative partners and foreign military sales clients.

In a 2021 presolicitation notice, the Naval Air Systems Command cited Argon ST as “the original designer, developer and manufacturer” of all the six MISD Low Band Sensor Suite variants.

NAVAIR determined at the time that the subsidiary is the only source of technical data, software, facilities and the expertise necessary to address branch requirements.

The MISD system features tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination technologies to facilitate the detection, classification and tracking of air and ground targets.

Seventy-five percent of contract work will occur in Fairfax, Virginia, and the rest in Germantown, Maryland.
