The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing (NYSE: BA) a one-year, $148.5 million contract modification for depot-level maintenance support and sustainment work on F/A-18 A/B/C/D multirole combat jets.
The modification exercises an option under a previously awarded contract and includes high flight hour and HFH recurring inspections, modification and liaison engineering services, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
Boeing will also modify systems on the F/A-18E/F/G variants and conduct additional inspections meant to address deficiencies as well as meet current design life limits.
The company will perform work in Jacksonville, Florida, through December 2018.
