Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a potential four-year, $131.6M undefinitized contract to support sensor systems used by the U.S. Navy‘s F/A-18E/FSuperHornet combat jets.
The delivery order comes after a previously awarded basic ordering agreement and tasks Boeing to procure and update weapon replaceable assemblies to support the low-rate initial production of Block I F/A-18E/F infrared search-and-track systems, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
The company will also provide technical risk-reduction services to support F/A-18 integration and tactics development as well as engineering change proposal efforts.
The Navy will obligate $43M from fiscal 2018 aircraft procurement funds at the time of award.
Boeing will perform services primarily in Orlando, Fla., with the rest of the work to take place in St. Louis, Mo.
The project is slated for completion in April 2022.
