Boeing Lands $90M Engineering & Services Contract for Navy's P-8A Aircraft

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has secured an $89.6 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for engineering and support services to help the U.S. Navy modernize and update the P-8A Poseidon multimission maritime patrol aircraft’s software and associated hardware capabilities.

The company will analyze, design, integrate and test the systems and software of the aircraft as well as provide prototyping, installation, maintenance and sustainment support services under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Seventy-eight percent of work will be conducted in Seattle, Washington, while 12 percent of it will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri. The remaining 10 percent will be held in Huntington Beach, California.

Boeing will receive funding upon issuance of individual orders under the contract as the service branch will not obligate funds at the time of award.

The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, awarded the contract whose anticipated completion date is December 2024.
