Federal agencies are expected to spend approximately $29B on information technology products and services in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2019, Bloomberg Government reported Tuesday.
BGOV estimates that the Department of Defense has approximately $14.4B in remaining funds to obligate on IT contracts for the current fiscal year.
The Department of Homeland Security has approximately $2.1B in remaining FY 2019 funds to spend on IT products, while the Department of Veteran Affairs has about $1.8B, according to the analysis.
Federal IT spending contract obligations for Q4 2019 are projected to reach approximately $8.1B and likely to flow through five contract vehicles: General Services Administrations Schedule IT-70; NASAs Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement IV and V; GSAs Alliant Large Business; Veterans Affairs Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology and T4 Next Generation; and GSAs 8(a) STARS II.
