The U.S. Air Force will launch final solicitations on July 27 for a potential 10-year, $6 billion contract vehicle to procure “adversary” aircraft intended for live training exercises, Bloomberg Government reported Monday.
BGOV noted the service branch plans to accept bids through Aug. 28 after it releases a request for proposals notice and award seven positions on the Combat Air Forces Adversary Air contract by July of next year.
Selected contractors will also support and maintain aircraft systems as well as provide logistics and program management services through the upcoming acquisition vehicle.
The service branch discussed its CAF ADAIR program at an industry event that was held June 7 and attended by representatives from Cubic (NYSE: CUB), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) and Saab.
