Bell Helicopter to Repair UH-1Y, AH-1Z Aircraft Items Under $147M Navy Contract

Textron‘s (NYSE: TXT) Bell Helicopter subsidiary has landed a potential $146.6 million contract from the U.S. Navy to repair 35 items used on the UH-1Y utility helicopter and the AH-1Z attack helicopter.

The Defense Department said Thursday the firm-fixed-price contract contains a two-year base period that will run through June 2019 and a one-year unpriced option.

Work will occur in Fort Worth, Texas, through June 2019.

The Naval Supply Systems Command will obligate funds on individual orders from the military branch’s working capital funds.

The UH-1Y helicopter supports the U.S. Marine Corps‘ efforts to intercept threats and deliver or exfiltrate personnel.

AH-1Z is equipped with virtually identical front and rear glass cockpits, integrated weapons, avionics and communications systems and air-to-air missile functions.
