Bechtels plant machinery company has received a $303.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, sole-source contract to provide nuclear propulsion components to the U.S. Navy.
The Defense Departmentsaid TuesdayBechtel Plant Machinery Inc. will carry out work in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Schenectady, New York, under the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program.
The Navy will obligate $205.4 million from the military branchs fiscal 2016 shipbuilding and conversion funds and fiscal 2017 “other” procurement funds at the time of award.
Bechtel manages two laboratories and an engineering organization that conducts research, development, design, acquisition management, reactor operator training and spent-fuel management for the Navy.
