Bechtel Gets $571M Navy Contract Modification for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Components

A Bechtel subsidiary has secured a potential $571.3 million contract to provide naval nuclear propulsion components to the U.S. Navy.

The Defense Department said Friday Bechtel Plant Machinery Inc. will deliver the components to support the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

BPMI helps the Navy fabricate, field, install and test nuclear power plant components for aircraft carriers and submarines through the NNPP program, according to Bechtel.

The Navy obligated the full amount of modification at the time of award from the service branch’s fiscal 2018 shipbuilding and conversion funds.

BPMI also received a separate $229.7 million modification from the service branch last month.

DoD noted it does not provide completion date or additional information on NNPP contracts.
