Bechtel‘s plant machinery business has secured a potential $575.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the U.S. Navy for various naval nuclear propulsion components.
The Defense Departmentsaid WednesdayBechtel Plant Machinery Inc. will perform work in New York and Pennsylvania and the Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate the full contract amount from shipbuilding and conversion funds in fiscal 2017.
The Navy also awarded BPMI nearly $393 million in contract funds in January and another $532.4 million in November for work on naval nuclear propulsion components.
BPMI provides design, manufacturing and procurement management services for the fabrication, delivery, testing and delivery of nuclear power plant components installed on submarines and aircraft carriers as a prime contractor on the military branch’s Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
