Barbara Angus, former chief tax counsel of the House Ways and Means Committee, has joined professional services company EY as leader of global tax policy.
She will be based in Washington, D.C., and lead a group of professionals to advise companies and help government clients develop and implement policy initiatives worldwide, EY said Thursday.
Angus helped create the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which implemented sweeping changes to the U.S. tax code in more than three decades.
“Few in Washington match Barbara’s intelligence, leadership and work ethic. Her efforts changed history, helping us create a tax code that works for families and Main Street businesses, said Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas.
Angus said she looks forward to helping EY clients in participating in the global tax policy dialogue and to guiding the company amid shifts in the global tax environment.
