BAE Systems™ Norfolk, Virginia-based ship repair business has won a potential $79.4 million contract from the U.S. Navy to repair, update and maintain the USS San Antonio.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday that BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair will provide the facilities and personnel who will perform and coordinate the ship maintenance, repair and modernization efforts for the amphibious transport dock ship.
Work will occur through April 2018 as part of the USS San Antonio fiscal 2017 docking phased maintenance availability.
The Navy will obligate the contract™s base value of $75.2 million from the military branch™s fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance and other procurement funds at the time of award.
The service branch received two proposals for the contract via an open competition on the FedBizOpps website.
