DLA exercised an option on a multiyear contract awarded to the company’s U.S. subsidiary in May to procure Modernized GPS User Equipment Increment 1 Common GPS Modules designed with anti-jamming and anti-spoofing features, BAE said Thursday.
BAE will manufacture the module for integration into ground and airborne weapon systems, with deliveries slated to run through 2030.
The company expects to hand over to DOD the ultra-small MicroGRAMTM-M in 2022 and the Strategic Anti-jam Beamforming Receiver – M-Code in 2024.
“Military operations require assured positioning, navigation, and timing and our customers are shifting to M-Code to harden their GPS systems against jamming and spoofing,” said Frank Zane, director of navigation and sensor systems business development at BAE.
The contract option raises the total amount of contract funding to $641 million.
