BAE Systems has won two U.S. Navy contracts worth about $222.6 million combined to provide maintenance, repair and modernization support services for an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer and a multipurpose amphibious assault ship.
The Department of Defense said Friday work on the firm-fixed-price contracts will occur in Norfolk, Virginia, through February 2026.
Both contracts cover all labor, equipment, production, supervision, testing, quality assurance and facilities needed to support critical maintenance, repair and modernization programs.
USS Laboon (DDG 58)
One of the two contracts awarded to BAE’s Norfolk Ship Repair business covers maintenance and modernization services for the USS Laboon (DDG 58), an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.
Naval Sea Systems Command issued a presolicitation for the DDG 58 fiscal 2025 docking selected restricted availability initiative in March and received two offers for the contract through a competitive procurement process.
The contract has a base amount of $114.8 million and includes options that, if exercised, could bring the award’s cumulative value to $117.9 million.
USS Wasp (LHD 1)
The contract for the repair and modernization of the USS Wasp (LHD 1) amphibious assault ship has a base value of $87.6 million and contains options that, if exercised, could raise the contract’s ceiling amount to $104.7 million.
In March, NAVSEA conducted market research for the USS WASP (LHD 1) fiscal 2025 selected restricted availability program. The command launched a full and open competition and secured three offers for the contract.
