BAE Systems has received two orders worth a combined $97 million to supply night vision goggles and thermal weapon sights to the U.S. Army.
Both orders fall under a five-year, $434 million contract the service branch awarded in 2015 under the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle III and Family of Weapon Sight-Individual program, BAEÂ said Thursday.
Marc Casseres, director of BAE’s precision guidance and sensing solutions business, said the company designed its goggles to help soldiers locate and engage targets.
Casseres added that an integrated ENVG III/FWS-I system will offer imagery and target acquisition capacities for tactical missions.
The system employs a Rapid Target AcquisitionModule to transmit aim points and surrounding images into the google via a wireless connection.
