ATAC will supply Type IV supersonic and Type III high subsonic aircraft for the Navy’s airborne threat simulation activities as part of the service branch's Specialized and Proven Aircraft program, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Naval Air Warfare Center received two bids for the contract through a competitive solicitation process and will obligate funds upon issuance of each order under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award.
Forty-four percent of contract work will take place in Newport News, Virginia, and the remaining 56 percent in California, Hawaii and Japan.
ATAC will conclude services by November 2025.
