Arnold Nowinski, former executive director of the launch and safety business at Axient, has been elevated to a vice president role within the same unit under Axient’s national security space segment.
He will lead a team of engineers and scientists that conducts new entrant certification for launch platforms, verifies system safety at U.S. Space Systems Command and performs space technology research and development at NASA’s Ames Research Center, the company said Tuesday.
The two-decade industry veteran previously managed defense, civilian and commercial space services for Applied Research Solutions as director.
His industry experience also included time as new entrant program manager at ManTech, program manager at URS and FTS engineer at Space Exploration Technologies.
Nowinski served as a developmental engineering officer in the U.S. Air Force for six years.
