Patrick O’Reilly, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general and former director of the Missile Defense Agency, has joined L3 Technologies (NYSE: LLL) as corporate vice president of engineering.
He will report directly to Chief Technology Officer Paul DeLia and joins the New York City-based defense contractor after a distinguished military career, L3 said Tuesday.
Christopher Kubasik, L3 president and CEO, said O’Reilly brings engineering and management experience to help drive the company’s cross-segment innovation efforts accelerate development of new technology platforms for customers.
O’Reilly previously served as directed energy project manager for the Army’s Patriot Advanced Capability-3, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense and Ground-Based Midcourse Defense programs.
The 35-year Army veteran worked as an adviser and board member at multiple government agencies after he retired from military in 2013.
