Craig Ackerman, formerly a principal in the federal practice at global advisory firm Chazey Partners, has been appointed to the newly created role of vice president for operations and transformation at Mitre.
Ackerman will oversee Mitre’s contracts and acquisition management, business transformation program, operational risk management function and corporate real estate as part of the newly established operations and transformation organization, Mitre said Monday.
Usha Chaudhary, senior VP for corporate operations and chief transformation officer at Mitre, said Ackerman will leverage his experience in finance and accounting, human resources, operations, information technology, procurement and sales to drive engagement as the nonprofit corporation works to transform its business functions and improve its services to external and internal clients.
Ackerman is a U.S. Army veteran who held senior leadership roles at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), Parsons Brinckerhoff and Day & Zimmermann. He has over 25 years of experience leading shared services, operations and business transformation teams.
