The U.S. Army has awardedRaytheon (NYSE: RTN) a potential three-year, $163.3 million contract to provide training services related to the Patriot air and missile defense system to Qatar through a foreign military sales agreement.
The firm-fixed-price contract covers pre-Patriot military occupational training, Patriot training classes and English language training support for Qatar™s air force personnel, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
Work will take place in Qatar through April 30, 2020.
The Army Contracting Command will obligate $81.6 million in fiscal 2016 œother funds at the time of award, according to DoD.
Raytheon-built Patriot is a high altitude, long-range combat missile defense platform designed to counter threats such as cruise and tactical ballistic missiles, aircraft and drones.
