The U.S. Army has awardedRaytheon (NYSE: RTN) a potential three-year, $163.3 million contract to provide training services related to the Patriot air and missile defense system to Qatar through a foreign military sales agreement.
The firm-fixed-price contract covers pre-Patriot military occupational training, Patriot training classes and English language training support for Qatars air force personnel, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
Work will take place in Qatar through April 30, 2020.
The Army Contracting Command will obligate $81.6 million in fiscal 2016 other funds at the time of award, according to DoD.
Raytheon-built Patriot is a high altitude, long-range combat missile defense platform designed to counter threats such as cruise and tactical ballistic missiles, aircraft and drones.
