Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has received a potential five-year, $350.6 million contract to provide the U.S. Army with the Advanced Range Tracking and Imaging System.
The Army program executive office for simulation, training and instrumentation awarded the firm-fixed-price contract through a competitive procurement process with four offers received, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
ARTIS will work to help DoD test ranges collect and monitor imagery data in order to test new weapons systems, the service branch said in a FedBizOpps notice.
ARTIS will be comprised of a close-in optical tracking tool designed to support ground-based testing operations and high-dynamic launch and impact requirements as well as a fly-out optical tracking platform that will work to meet requirements for ballistic missile fly-outs, high-altitude intercepts and other long-range imaging missions.
Contract work will run through May 5, 2021.
The service branch will determine funds and performance location upon award of each task order, according to DoD.
