The U.S. Army has issued a request for proposals for a follow-on contract to acquire research and development capabilities in support of the mission of the military branch’s Space and Missile Defense Command.
The Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration II Domain 2 program is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covering information integration, data exploitation and enhanced warfighter capabilities meant to help USASMDC develop and deliver global space, missile defense and high-altitude capabilities to the Army, joint forces and allies to improve deterrence and enable combat effects across multiple domains, according to the solicitation notice published Friday.
D3I2 Domain 2 is a total small business set-aside program with a base ordering term of five years and a five-year optional ordering period and a projected performance period of Feb. 5, 2025, to Feb. 4, 2035.
The Army anticipates a programmatic level ceiling value of $4.62 billion, which will be shared between D3I2 Domain 1 – full-and-open – and Domain 2 – small business set-aside – with $2.05 billion to be shared among all prime contract awardees in D2.
The service posted a draft solicitation for the recompete contract in October.
Questions and comments on the RFP are due Jan. 18.
The deadline for submission of proposals is on Feb. 27.
