Martin UAV and Textron‘s (NYSE: TXT) AAI Corp. subsidiary will compete for orders to provide non-developmental tactical unmanned aerial systems to the U.S. Army under a potential three-year, $99.5M contract.
Eleven bids were submitted to Army Contracting Command for the firm-fixed-price contract, which runs through March 27, 2022, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Breaking Defense reported Thursday the two contractors will offer scout drones as potential replacements for the service’s Shadow UAV platform through the Future Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems program.
The report said the Army will test FTUAS offerings to inform military leaders on how to move forward with the program, which is a key element of its Future Vertical Lift portfolio.
