To date, the service has placed $858 million in orders of the vehicle, equivalent to 2,000 A2 and 982 trailer units, the company said Thursday.
The FMTV A2 is designed with crew-protecting armor for the transport and recovery of troops, supplies, weapons and equipment.
Oshkosh Defense offers the vehicle in 5-ton tractor, 8.8-ton load handling system, cargo 4×4 and 6×6, 10-ton dump and 5-ton wrecker variants.
Pat Williams, chief programs officer for Oshkosh Defense, said that FMTV A2 “is a direct result of Oshkosh’s partnership with the U.S. Army to provide the advanced technologies and expertise necessary to meet the ever-changing demands of the battlefield.”
