The U.S. Army has awarded other transaction agreements to five contractors to provide initial designs of the services Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft platform, Breaking Defense reported Tuesday.
Following assessment of aircraft designs, the Army will down-select to two participants that will move into the prototyping stage by February 2020.
The service branch plans to name one winner for the FARA program and expects low-rate production of the aircraft to commence by 2028.
