Anne Hughes, a more than 30-year health care industry veteran, has been named vice president of business development at Cognosante‘s civilian health unit, FedHealthIT reported Thursday. Cognosante is headquartered in Falls Church, Va., and offers technology and business process outsourcing services to government health organizations.
Most recently, Hughes served as senior vice president for growth and engagement at claim payment automation company Burgess and chief sales officer at medical information technology firm Medyear.
She worked at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) as director of business development for its health solutions business and led its performance management services under the General Services Administration’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract. Her industry career also includes various positions at McKesson, Harris Healthcare and PatientKeeper.
