The CDAO said Tuesday the award supports the continued development of its tactical data mesh system to enable low-latency data exchange across multiple networks, domains and organizations.
The production agreement follows the evaluation of a prototype system as part of the CDAO’s Global Integration Dominance Experimentation series. During its GIDE demonstration, the technology facilitated secure and timely information sharing between joint and coalition units.
“This newest Open DAGIR award also leverages the best practice of accelerating capability development through experimentation and quickly scaling proven solutions into the hands of warfighters,” commented Radha Plumb, chief digital and AI officer.
Anduril Wins CDAO Contract
The production agreement grants Anduril $100 million to scale its edge data integration services capabilities. Work on the contract will primarily be performed in the National Capital Region until November 2028.
About $33 million of fiscal 2024 and 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds are being obligated at the time of the award.
Anduril’s Lattice Software
Central to the effort is Lattice, the Costa Mesa, California-headquartered company’s artificial intelligence-powered software that connects distributed weapons, sensors, robots and other platforms at the edge to provide critical data to warfighters. According to Anduril, deployed troops can publish and subscribe to data from multiple, different sources to support operations and advance their mission.
