Andrew Adams Named Future Vertical Lift Campaign Lead at Lockheed's Rotary & Mission Systems Unit

Andrew Adams, a 31-year veteran of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), has been appointed to lead the company’s Future Vertical Lift campaign under the rotary and mission systems business, effective Nov. 18.

He will be responsible for strategic and operational efforts to support the U.S. Army-led FVL program and will bring capture and pursuit experience to his new role, Lockheed said Thursday.

His appointment comes as the Bethesda, Md.-based contractor looks to establish a unified organizational structure for capture initiatives related to the Army’s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft and Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft programs; the Marine Corps’ Attack Utility Replacement Aircraft program; and the S-97 Raider and SB>1 Defiant projects within the firm’s Sikorsky subsidiary.

Adams previously worked at Lockheed’s aeronautics business as vice president and deputy general manager of the F-35 Lightning II program.

He also spent 29 years within the company’s Skunk Works unit.
