An Ameresco subsidiary has won a potential 24-year, $402.8M task order under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy to build, operate and maintain energy conservation systems at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va.
Ameresco Select will update the shipyard’s energy security, water treatment, steam distribution and transformer systems, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center received two offers for the task order.
DoD said the company will use funds from a private financing effort to carry out the 36-month construction phase and the department expects contractor services at the shipyard to be complete by January 2043.
