Amentum, Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) and Apex Systems have teamed up to offer engineering and programmatic support for the U.S. Air Force’s current and next intercontinental ballistic missile system through a new joint venture called Integrated ICBM Support Services.
“We know this is a vital mission. Our strategic nuclear deterrence is the foundation for our nation’s security and sustaining global peace,” said Darrell Graddy, president of i2S2.
Graddy added that each member company has previous experience in operational sustainment work across large-scale technical programs. The JV looks to establish an office in Utah and form a leadership team if the partnership wins the ISC 2.0 contract.
I2S2 noted it would seek insights from potential industry partners and military veterans through the formation of a senior advisory group.
Northrop said back then the project will span eight and a half years and involve design, qualification, test, evaluation and certification of the new weapon system.
