Alion Science and Technology has received a potential $75M task order to help the U.S. Army and Marine Corps develop on-the-move satellite communications technology for multiple weapons systems deployed at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific.
The order was awarded by the U.S. Air Force Installation Contracting Agency via the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center™s multiple-award Defense Systems Technical Area Task contract, Alion said Tuesday.
The company will support the design, evaluation, testing and implementation of new hardware and software for combat vehicle command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance OTM systems.
Efforts under the contract seek to ensure interoperability of system upgrades and build technology prototypes that would help military personnel address an operational OTM communications gap.
Tim Lawrence, a senior vice president of Alion, said the company uses an agile approach in efforts to address customer requirements for C4ISR programs.
