Alion Books $285M Task Order for Navy Training Platform R&D; Glenn Goodman Quoted

Alion Science and Technology has secured a two-year, $285 million task order to provide the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Corona division with research, development, test and evaluation services in support of the modernization of a U.S. Navy training platform.

The company will engineer and integrate new software, technologies and approaches to enable updates to the Navy Continuous Training Environment, Alion said Friday.

Software modeling and simulation, and cybersecurity will also be covered by the task order, which was awarded by the Air Force’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s multiple-award contract vehicle.

The Navy system is meant to support the training of joint semi-automated forces on software design, electromagnetic spectrum operations and undersea warfare training, among several focus areas.

Glenn Goodman, senior vice president and general manager of Alion’s live, virtual and constructive solutions group, said the company works as the prime developer of NCTE’s Navy Training Baseline software and Enterprise Tactical Training Network.

“We enhance productivity using agile engineering to provide continuous evolution of training technologies and solutions to support Navy, Joint, and Coalition mission partners,” he added.

In July 2020, Alion received a $182M task order for the design, analysis and development of NCTE.
