Alicia Harkness, a founding partner at Guidehouse, has been named leader of the management consulting firm’s health segment. She will oversee the development of large-scale health care strategies intended to support public and private sector customers in her expanded capacity, the company said Wednesday.
The role consolidates the public and commercial health leadership responsibilities that were separately performed by Harkness and David Zito, who became chief growth officer of Guidehouse earlier this month.
The nearly three-decade industry veteran has also led the company’s diversity and inclusion functions and established its Center for Health Insights.

Scott McIntyre, CEO of Guidehouse and a 2020 Wash100 Award recipient, said Harkness will help foster a collaborative work environment for teams as the company aims to help government and commercial clients address mission objectives.
Harkness previously served as a partner at PwC and led its commercial health care business. She also held executive positions at BearingPoint and spent time at KPMG as a partner and consultant earlier in her career.
