Austin Adams, vice president of public sector at San Mateo, California-based open-source software provider Alfresco, has said government agencies should address œcontent chaos through the adoption of a centralized platform designed to process and store documents.
Adams wrote that such a platform works to help government personnel access, share and collaborate on content as well as establish a business process that can provide employees a view on a document™s status throughout its lifecycle.
He also called on agencies to deploy a common platform designed for use in desktop and mobile environments and can support several applications.
œUsing a common platform for numerous applications can drastically drive down acquisition and development time, he added.
Adams also urged agencies to collaborate with œopen-source vendors that natively support the flexibility, scalability, and agility found in the cloud.
