Alan Shaffer, former deputy undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense, has joined the government security committee of semiconductor manufacturing company GlobalFoundries.
He joins a panel that advises the Malta, New York-based company’s management team on government, political affairs and security matters, GlobalFoundries said Wednesday.
The committee is led by Ken Krieg, who served as the DOD acquisition chief from 2005 to 2007, and supports the manufacturer’s initiative to help government customers secure semiconductor products.
“Shaffer brings a wealth of experience to GF’s GSC, further expanding our expertise in security and intelligence matters, and increasing GF’s reach across industries and the national security community,” said Saam Azar, senior vice president of corporate development, legal and government affairs at GlobalFoundries.
