The U.S. Air Force is seeking a contractor to help the service branch conduct component-level design and tradeoff analyses as part of efforts to determine requirements to develop a precision approach and landing technology. In a FedBizOpps solicitation notice posted Thursday, USAF said it wants a Small Footprint-PALC design that will operate at different environmental scenarios worldwide.
USAF envisions the platform fitting in a 463L pallet used for transporting military cargo on the C-130H aircraft. The service also intends for the system to utilize internal monitoring features and to function in areas without GPS reception.
