The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory has released a broad agency announcement for a potential $334 million contract to build a larger class air-breathing hypersonic missile designed to carry out multiple missions.
Interested stakeholders that intend to compete for the Mayhem program should request for a proposal requirements package by March 15 and submit offers through May 24, according to a solicitation notice published Tuesday.
AFRL said it will disseminate the statement of objectives only upon request due to the sensitive nature of information in the SOO and related attachments.
The Mayhem program seeks to deliver a hypersonic system with strike and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and equipped with a standardized payload interface to provide multiple opportunities to integrate various payloads.
The Air Force anticipates awarding one indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a performance period of 51 months and an ordering period of 45 months and an initial task order with a period of performance of 15 months.
The service expects to award a contract on Dec. 5, according to the notice.
