The U.S. Air Force has asked industry to provide information on future commercial launch, maneuver and transport capabilities as part of the National Security Launch Architecture study.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Friday says the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center is interested in industry projections and perspectives with regard to future civil and commercial capabilities for 2025 and beyond.
SpaceNews reported Col. Russell Teehan, portfolio architect at SMC, will lead the NSLA study, which aims to gain insights into the space launch industry™s capabilities as the service branch starts to determine future requirements for the subsequent phase of the National Security Space Launch program.
Interested stakeholders have been asked to respond to several questions in the RFI, including their future LM&T market capture strategy, perspectives in response to the Department of Defense™s launch policy, future LM&T architectures and supporting technologies and perspectives with regard to future satellite architecture ambitions.
Companies have until Nov. 19 to submit a statement of capability in response to the RFI.
SMC said it plans to conduct a two-day NSLA industry day in December.
