Aethon Security has elevated Gabrielle Ricupero to vice president of operations. The company announced the appointment Saturday on LinkedIn.
Noël Vestal, president and chief information officer of Aethon Security, praised Ricupero’s dedication, drive and professionalism in a LinkedIn post congratulating her on the promotion. Vestal said she had watched Ricupero “grow and thrive and develop her team.”

Ricupero’s expanded role puts her in charge of building out internal operations, refining internal processes and strengthening client service. She will also continue working with existing accounts, partnerships and priority initiatives.

Ricupero is a cybersecurity and operations leader with experience spanning IT project management, software development and organizational security initiatives. She has helped the company refine operational processes, manage project delivery, and keep cybersecurity and compliance initiatives on track. Ricupero’s career includes leading technology and cybersecurity programs for government and commercial organizations, with responsibilities throughout the software development lifecycle.
Her role supports Aethon Security’s mission to help defense contractors meet compliance standards through capabilities like Aethon Guide, a managed service designed to help small and mid-sized defense contractors prepare for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2 requirements.
The company also advises contractors on cybersecurity compliance and CMMC requirements, with CEO Derek Kernus urging organizations to continue implementing required controls rather than wait for assessment activity to resume.
What Is Ricupero’s Professional Background?
Before her promotion, Ricupero served as program manager and cybersecurity project manager. She joined the company in May 2025 as a cybersecurity project coordinator.
Ricupero spent four years as an IT business analyst focused on cybersecurity and project management at DTS and worked as a computer operator at S&T Bank. She also held earlier roles as a project manager for the IUP Small Business Institute and in IT support and web development at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
