The Aerospace Corp. has promoted Kristin St. Peter and Debra Emmons to senior vice president positions overseeing legal affairs and civil space activities, respectively.
Who Is Kristin St. Peter?
St. Peter is a legal executive with leadership experience in the intelligence and national security sectors. She is set to succeed Glenn McKeown as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary on Jan. 2, 2027. In this role, she will provide legal counsel to company leadership and the board of trustees. She will also oversee the Office of the General Counsel.
Prior to her promotion, St. Peter served as deputy general counsel and chief privacy officer, a role in which she guided legal strategy alongside Aerospace’s general counsel while overseeing attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff in the company’s California and Virginia offices.
St. Peter previously served at the Defense Intelligence Agency for more than four years, holding roles such as acting general counsel and principal deputy general counsel. She also spent over three years at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency serving as chief of congressional affairs, deputy associate director for capabilities, and chief of the mission and international law team.
Tanya Pemberton, president and CEO of Aerospace, said St. Peter’s experience and mission-focused background make her well-suited for the position, adding that she will help the company continue to deliver trusted, independent expertise in support of its critical missions.
Who Is Debra Emmons?
A long-time Aerospace executive, Emmons was officially elevated to senior vice president of the civil systems group on Wednesday, succeeding Jim Myers, who retired Aug. 1. In her new role, Emmons will help strengthen space technology delivery for the company’s partners in the commercial, civil and international sectors.
Emmons most recently served as VP and chief technology officer, overseeing the company’s enterprise technology strategy, prototyping work, and internal research and development investments. Her other leadership roles include VP of special studies, general manager of the communication technologies and engineering division, and principal director for NASA and civil programs. She started her nearly 24-year career at Aerospace as a project engineer.
Emmons previously served as a project manager at Hughes Space and Communications, where she worked on commercial telecommunications satellite development.
Pemberton said Emmons’ technical knowledge and strategic leadership position her to lead the civil systems group, adding that the promotion recognizes her accomplishments and dedication to customer missions.
