Adobe Systems (Nasdaq: ADBE) and the General Services Administration have entered into an agreement for the company to offer data security and electronic signature software products to the federal government.
GSA said Tuesday it seeks to help customer agencies comply with information security and electronic government policy recommendations and laws through the agency’s new enterprise software procurement deal with Adobe.
“The offering is a significant step forward in promoting acquisition efficiency and supporting the agencys goals under category management, said Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of the information technology category office at GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service.
“It will help federal agencies protect high value assets, while also supporting faster transition to an electronic government, ” Davie added.
GSA said the deal adheres to guidelines under the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act and Making Electronic Government Accountable By Yielding Tangible Efficiencies Act regarding software license agreements for the government’s mission-critical systems.
The agency added that a modification to Carahsofts IT Schedule 70 contract on Adobe products works to support the Office of Management and Budget‘s category management policy.
