Richard Knop, former co-head of the government and defense group at BB&T Capital Markets, was selected as the 2007 Technology Good Scout Award recipient fromthe National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Knop is known for cofounding Windsor Group, a middle-market mergers and acquisitions firm that BB&T acquired in January 2005. He then led the combined entity with a continued focus on the GovCon industry until 2009. In February 2010, Knop and Leslee Belluchie worked as a husband-and-wife duo in the Washington, D.C., area to establish private equity fund FedCap Partners with the goal of helping small to mid-market technology and service providers.
The BSA National Capital Area Council’s 2022 award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Nov. 2 at the Tysons Corner Marriott hotel in Virginia, with LMI President and CEO Doug Wagoner serving as this year’s Good Scout honoree.
