Five companies have received contracts worth $199.3 million combined to help NASAs flight operations directorate develop, maintain and sustain information technology systems and software platforms.
The JOIST contracts have three baseline areas and the potential $25.6 million Baseline A contract covers IT support and related services for the space agencys module-based software suite – Aircraft Management Information System designed to support aircraft flight missions.
Baseline B is valued at approximately $38.7 million and covers support services for the directorates IT system and legacy components, while the potential $135 million indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity, multiple-award contract segment covers IT-related research and development support.
NASA awarded Baseline A and B contracts respectively to SAIC and Rothe Development and said the agency expects work to conclude in September 2019.
All five companies will compete for task orders under the IDIQ contract segment with an ordering period that will run through September 2022.
Contractors will begin work in October under the five contracts.
The flight operations directorate at Johnson Space Center in Houston oversees the training of astronauts and oversees operations for human spaceflight missions.
