Five companies hold positions on a five-year, $250 million contract to develop electronic warfare threat simulation and radar systems for U.S. Navy aircrew.
Contractors will compete to help the military branch implement simulators and instrumentation to train naval aviation personnel in network-centric warfare and battlefield scenarios before their deployment to missions, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Work under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract involves research, development, modernization, engineering, integration, cybersecurity and sustainment services.
The Navy sought tactical and electronic warfare threat systems to help increase the lethality and survivability of the branch’s pre-deployment aircrew.
