The U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command’s innovation unit has chosen 25 out of 100 proposers to compete for a program aimed at developing methods and systems to train airmen.
Finalists in Strikewerx’s Advanced Training Concepts Challenge will aim to demonstrate platforms for B-52 communications training, explosive ordnance disposal and E-4B communications maintenance trainer applications, AFGSC said Wednesday.
The command will review ideas from the selected vendors and intends to fund the best ones through a prototyping effort.
Participants will have the chance to present at a virtual event scheduled for April and an in-person demo to be held at the Cyber Innovation Center in May.
“This challenge will identify modern, agile, and sustainable training tools to improve the overall effectiveness of training throughout the command,” said Donna Senft, chief scientist at AFGSC.
